Old Friend Returns to Blackburn Camera Club

Old friend of Pixel and former member of Blackburn and District Camera Club returns to the club to give a lecture entitled Cityscapes and Candids.

Steward will be presenting a talk featuring a mixture of urban and candid photography.

Stewards urban photography tries to capture non-traditional images of cities and towns, avoiding the standard 'straight building photograph' wherever possible.

His candid photography, tries to show people in everyday surroundings without their knowledge. This results in a 'true' capture of the person or persons, without being influenced by the knowledge that they are being photographed.

During the talk Steward will explain his reasons and how he captured theses photographs, as well as tips on what and where to look to get such images.

Some of Steward's work is on line at

The club meets at 7.30pm on Monday nights (except bank holidays) at Feniscowles Methodist Church, Preston Old Road, Blackburn.
New members always welcome.

Pixel Editor Opens Show at ACE

A new exhibition of Pixel Editor, Lee Johnson's work opened at the ACE Centre in Nelson this week.

Following on from the success of the Remnants show I felt it was time to hang some more pictures.

Over the last twelve months or so I have been working with haiku poet Sarah Lee to combine images and words together.  Sarah and I explored the three peaks of Pendle; Boulsworth, Weets and Pendle.  While I took photographs Sarah scribbled away pay close diligence to our surroundings, thoughts and feelings.  The result is the 15 piece show hanging in the ACE.

Each print is accompanied by a haiku poem; a form of Japanese poetry that is strict in form.

The show runs until the 31st of January.
