Pennine Lancashire Photography Student Meets Idol

Doyle, 19, told a Lancashire Telegraph reporter “I have started looking at universities and Glasgow’s School of Art has a really good reputation.”
“I went to look around but I sneaked
in at a post graduate day even though I didn’t qualify. I took my portfolio and
just asked if I could show it to someone. They took me to a room and I thought
I would just meet a secretary but then I was suddenly shaking hands with Thomas
Joshua Cooper and I felt so lucky. He is someone I admire and he is a genius in
his field.
“He looked at my portfolio and took a lot of
interest in what I was doing and my work and I have applied to go there. He
even sent me an email wishing me a happy new year!
“I love fine art. My photos are vibrant and I also
like photographing people. I am so excited to see what the future holds.”

Old Friend Returns to Blackburn Camera Club
Steward will be
presenting a talk featuring a mixture of urban and candid photography.
Stewards urban
photography tries to capture non-traditional images of cities and towns,
avoiding the standard 'straight building photograph' wherever possible.
His candid
photography, tries to show people in everyday surroundings without their
knowledge. This results in a 'true' capture of the person or persons, without
being influenced by the knowledge that they are being photographed.
During the talk
Steward will explain his reasons and how he captured theses photographs, as
well as tips on what and where to look to get such images.
Some of Steward's work is on line at http://www.stewardellettphotography.co.uk

Pixel Editor Opens Show at ACE

Following on from the success of the Remnants show I felt it was time to hang some more pictures.
Over the last twelve months or so I have been working with haiku poet Sarah Lee to combine images and words together. Sarah and I explored the three peaks of Pendle; Boulsworth, Weets and Pendle. While I took photographs Sarah scribbled away pay close diligence to our surroundings, thoughts and feelings. The result is the 15 piece show hanging in the ACE.
Each print is accompanied by a haiku poem; a form of Japanese poetry that is strict in form.
The show runs until the 31st of January.
